A wish upon a movie...

Talking to my dad today, a random story from when I was young came up.
He told me that I used to dream about travelling to Kangarooland. Weird? nah... He said that I was fascinated with a Bernardo & Bianca movie, in which the landscapes were so beautiful, that seemed to be inviting you to visit them.
I really don't recall watching that movie, so I guess I must have been pretty young at that time. He said that it was my dream to visit Kangarooland, and that, despite I've forgotten about it, it was still latent inside me.

A couple of years later, my parents sent me to a secondary school that fostered languages; it had many hours of English and Latin a week, and in the latter years it would include, in my case, Portuguese too.
When, at the age of 14, I approached them assertively and informed my decision of studying Japanese with a private teacher, their stared at me in puzzlement. Maybe their thoughts were something like "why not French?" or "what did we do wrong?". However, they discussed it between themselves, and finally, walked me to the Japanese teacher's class.

Then my dream-as well as my motto- became: "Someday, I will go to Japan!"
